Advanced Technology in Dentistry - Capital Dental Group of Englewood NJ

Advanced Dental Technology

Advancements in dental technology not only improve your experience as a patient, but also make dentistry more effective and interesting for us. We stay up-to-date with advancements in dental treatments and technology so that we can continually provide our family of patients with the best care we can.

Complete Dental Implant Care

A dental implant is a small titanium post that is surgically connected to your jawbone. Due to the biocompatible properties of titanium, the implant will fuse with your jawbone and provide a solid foundation for a crown, bridge, or full set of dentures.

While many dentists can finish off an existing implant with a crown or bridge, not all dentists have the ability to perform the implant procedure from start to finish. Dr. Yun has completed training in both the surgical placement and the cosmetic restoration of dental implants, so you can receive all of your implant care right here in our Englewood dental office.

The Benefits of Dental Implants:

  • Dental implants aren’t just for seniors. You can replace your missing teeth at any age!
  • Implants look and function just like natural teeth, with none of the slipping or uncomfortable adhesives of removable dentures.
  • Healthy, well-maintained dental implants can last for years.

Digital X-rays

Digital X-rays are a fast and comfortable diagnostic tool that helps us accurately assess your oral health needs. If it’s been a while since you last had dental X-rays taken, we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the speed and ease of digital X-rays! Plus, they require no chemical processing and emit up to 90% less radiation than traditional X-rays, making them a smart choice for both your smile and the environment.

We use X-rays in the dental exams of patients of all ages, because many problems with teeth and surrounding tissues cannot be seen by the naked eye. X-rays are needed to reveal:

  • Cavities between teeth or below restorations
  • Infections in the jaw bones
  • Early signs of gum disease and oral cancer
  • Abscesses, cysts, and some types of tumors
  • Developmental abnormalities

Digital Panoramic X-rays

Digital Panoramic X-ray Machine

Using our digital panoramic X-ray machine, we are able to get an image of your entire mouth — including teeth, upper and lower jaws, and surrounding structures and tissues — in a single pass of the X-ray machine. A panoramic X-ray is a vital diagnostic tool for our team. Because it provides us views of a wider area than traditional X-rays, we’re able to see potential issues with your nasal and sinus areas, tooth positions, and bone irregularities. The image produced also helps us develop a treatment plan for braces, implants, extractions, and more.

Intraoral Camera

Like digital X-rays, digital photographs with our intraoral camera are a useful diagnostic and patient education tool. This digital camera allows us to give you a “tour” of your mouth. The small mouthpiece fits comfortably in your mouth and instantly projects images of your teeth and gums on a TV or computer screen. The intraoral camera can help us guide you through your diagnosis and treatment options, keeping you at the center of your treatment plans.

We look forward to treating you soon. Schedule an appointment today!

Soft Tissue Laser

Lasers are extremely precise and can help shorten the duration of almost any general dental procedure. Lasers eliminate the need for scalpels and sutures, minimize pain, and even help speed up the healing process. We use our minimally-invasive soft tissue laser in a variety of applications, from deep cleanings and gum surgery to cosmetic gum reshaping.

We will happily work with your needs to give you the care you are looking for.

Isolite System

Everyone wants to spend less time in the dental chair, and the revolutionary Isolite patient comfort system can help you do just that. With Isolite, you’ll be in and out of our office in no time, and with minimal discomfort! Isolite’s flexible mouthpiece shields your tongue and cheek during procedures, and its powerful light illuminates your mouth from the inside so we have a clearer view of our workspace.
